Read more A four-voice performance outside the gender binarity
A DISCOVERY EVENT proposed by the Collectif Trans*mission poétique
March 27, 2023, Bachibouzouk (Rue des Jardins 12), Vevey, 19:00 p.m., free entry at the hat (other dates on the Printemps de la Poésie website)
Four non-binary artists set out on a poetic mission: to find traces of people they can identify with in the past and to think about their own struggles in order to better write their futures.
People outside gender norms — and more generally LGBTIQ+ — have always faced numerous obstacles in transmitting their life stories, leaving new generations with the difficult task of building themselves with, as a legacy, silences, taboos and unthought-of things.
In the form of dialogues and poetic testimonies in several voices, “Trans*mission poétique” illustrates the diversity of non-binary experiences of its four performers, protean artists — Ezra Sibyl Benisty, Klimte, Linn Molineaux and Loïc Valley — who struggle to think differently than in terms of “man” and “woman” identities.
Poetry, a moving genre par excellence, thus allows them to look back on the past and imagine, together, the archives of the future. This dialogue attempts, by multiplying points of view, to joyfully celebrate queer and poetic filiation, in a collective effort essential for understanding oneself, others and our common origins.
