In the two years that our Observatory has existed, the dual branch on which we must base our action has become increasingly clear: the autonomy of science on the epistemic level, and universalism on the political level. Both have to do with the values of the Enlightenment, as well as with an old tradition of the left strongly linked to secularism. Hence the strategic importance of a "non-right-wing" affirmation of the fight against wokeism, which distinguishes us (the French) quite clearly from the Americans, and will perhaps allow us to win allies where we need them.
