Recommendations to authors

These recommendations aim to guarantee the quality, rigor and consistency of contributions signed on behalf of the Observatory.

Articles can be submitted to the editorial team either through the observatory's internal mailing list reserved for members and guests, or to the following email address: observatoiredecolonialisme@gmail.com either by directly contacting the section heads listed here.

Submitted articles will adhere to the following guidelines:

  • 4 to 8 characters, including notes
  • The article is written in French according to conventional spelling standards.
  • The article comes to us in Garamond 14 font, line spacing 1.3
  • The first line is the title, then “by” the author on the second line ((first name – LAST NAME (Quality))

  • Notes and references are included in the body of the article for publication on the Web in the following manner: we place the note between:

Example of rendering the notes system

  • In general, the standard of grades in the system specific to one's discipline will be respected.
  • However, in the absence of preference, the standard Z 44-005 of December 1987, Documentation: Bibliographic references: Content, form and structure (ISO 690), and its extension Z 44-005-2 (ISO 690-2) of February 1998 will be respected.
  • The links included in reference are included via hypertext and not in a note or bibliography

  • The text is sent in Pages or Docx format, accompanied by a PDF.
  • Quotes longer than one line are highlighted.
  • For publication, images must be accompanied by a caption specifying their source.
