A quantum teaching

A management science teacher at the University of Montpellier 3, Bénédicte Gendron, is setting up a Master 2 whose program is worthy of the columns of the Gorafi and quickly made the rounds of comedians net :

What comment can one make in the face of such pretentious stupidity? The words speak for themselves… I even remembered a few, which have no meaning but which I will place in the conversation. Capacitant and vibratory ", this irresistibly reminds me of a hilarious comic strip by Lauzier which tells the extraordinary adventures of Zizi and Peter Panpan[1] who are looking for an orgasm" bipolar and three-phase ". I generously point out these two adjectives to academics in need of renewal to announce the theme of the courses in (re)education or reproductive sciences. That a university endorses this kind of delirium is symptomatic of the intellectual degradation of the "elites".

The little online newspaper The Fist wonders if the title of this training came from the program of a wellness fair[2] – or shelves Personal development from FNAC[3], but I cannot cite all the remarks and suggestions, each funnier than the last, that have flourished on social networks to comment on this curious program… For once, said networks are funny and inventive! But the mockery does not reach our valiant heroine of vibrational and quantum teaching.

However, digging a little deeper, The Fist found things much more serious than what seems like mere intellectual somersaults. Three points caught my attention; I fear that this is no longer amusing at all…

  • The detailed brochure for this training offers “ a return to Self, via ACT training (Acceptance and Commitment Training) […] as part of an immersion and exposure to oriental culture in Thailand or […] at the Lerab Ling Center, Occitanie, France) ». The Fist specifies that the Lerab Ling center is a Buddhist center attached to the Nyingmapa school, located near Lodève, which was in the spotlight in September 2022 following the publication of a book[4], who accused the director of this center of rape and mental control.
  • This teacher "notably directed a thesis on learning to taste wine "in full awareness", which evokes the concept of biodynamics, linked to the work of Rudolph Steiner, creator of anthroposophy, a controversial pseudo-scientific doctrine cited by Miviludes (Interministerial Mission for Vigilance and the Fight against Sectarian Abuses) because of its "possible risks for populations". We have thus moved from the hazy ideas of an enlightened teacher to enter the domain of sectarian abuses.
  • The teacher in question claims that her colleagues "saw [her] diplomas, [her] research contracts, [her] medical training[5], and today, it's fine." That she talks nonsense about quantum mechanics[6], it's okay, indeed: it doesn't hurt anyone, we can't do anything about the intellectual void, except avoid falling into it, it's profound; but if she claims "medical training", it's no longer okay! I can only recall the dangers of the medical conceptions of the anthroposophists whose agricultural conceptions she adopts[7]. There are less serious delusions…

What to do with a university that is drifting like this? Mit der Dummheit kämpfen Götter selbst vergebens[8] wrote Schiller more than two centuries ago...
